Join me as I go through my writing journey. My goal is to share my writing so that I can gain more confidence and get honest feedback from readers. Every week I will post a journal entry, short story, a poem, or a snippet of a novel I am working on to get constructive criticism on my projects. I hope you enjoy what I have to write and please do not feel shy in telling me what you think!

White Privilege

Come on! Get Up! Let’s play!

We’re going to have some fun,

We’ll dance and sing, but we won’t stop,

Until I say we’re done.

I’ll tell a joke and make you laugh,

You won’t believe my wit!

You’ll agree with me and my thoughts,

Or else I’ll make you eat shit.

You’ll dance for me and make me smile,

Because your existence is the joke,

I decided you would be my jester,

Even before we spoke.

Don’t tell me to shut my mouth,

I can say whatever I want.

Your mouth, however, could be shut forever

With just one simple shot.

But instead, I’ll do it silently,

While all my friends are watching.

I have to have a grand finale,

I can’t leave them wanting.

Why are you just lying there?

You were so Lively before.

You gave that great big speech,

But now you lay bleeding on the floor.

Maybe the next one will be more compliant,

You really weren’t much fun

Go die alone on the sidewalk,

Our time together is now done.

Low Dopamine

I chase you down and grab at you,

I just want to hold you.

You come and go without a care,

Leaving me wandering what to do.

Without you I am not myself,

I feel like a sad imposter,

Our relationship means the world to me,

Something I constantly tend and foster.

I need the dopamine hit,

I need the rush it provides.

You only feed me when it suits you,

You don’t care if I’m empty inside.

Oh inspiration, you fleeting bitch,

Please come sooth this aching itch.

Billionaires Should not Exist

We are the many and they are the few

What does that mean to you?

To me it means the time is ripe

To finally make them pay for our plight.

We’ll break their walls down and wipe them out,

Take everything they own and leave them without

So they can see what it’s like to have to live in fear,

To lose and worry about everything they hold dear.

They drain us so dry we’ve run out of blood

We stand outside in the rain and hope for a cash flood.

We are the many and they are the few,

So what do you think we should do?

They watch us struggle and laugh as they do,

Little do they know we’re planning a coup.

We’re going to burn it all down and start again,

But this time we’ll include ALL women and men.

We’re going to feast on the rich! Let’s put them out of our misery.

Then we’ll divide up all their money equally, adding insult to injury.

They had their chance to make the world a better place,

Now it’s time that they faced up to their disgrace.

We are the many and they are the few,

Don’t ever let them lie to you.

Your neighbor isn’t taking money from your pocket

It’s the one percent who loves to lie, but you’re too tired to clock it.

People work two or three jobs just to make ends meet,

They’re being worked to death and herded like sheep,

To the slaughterhouse we go, more meat for the grind,

Don’t worry about love and compassion they’ve left us behind.

They distract us constantly with our struggle for survival,

They’ve even convinced you that your neighbor is your rival.

We are the many and they are the few

So now you know what to do

Fight, fight, fight as hard as you can

Stand and defend your fellow working man.

No child should ever go hungry or be without a home,

No veteran should have to beg, only remembered on a tombstone.

Living to work is the American Nightmare, it’s time to wake the fuck up

Take down the one percent and fill your own cup.

We are the many and they are the few.

The rest is up to you.

Word Vomit

I need to throw up,

I need to get it all out,

The truth is like a poison,

Waiting to spew from my mouth.

The things that I’ve seen,

The secrets I know,

I can’t keep it all inside,

IT’S GONNA BLOW!

Bile and acid,

Bits of food and blood,

Lies, venom, anger,

All come out in the flood.

I’ve kept it all in,

For far too long.

The sepsis is setting in,

Singing through my veins like a song.

It burns and erodes,

Disintegrating my throat,

I try to catch my breath,

Oh God, I’m gonna choke!

They say the truth will set you free,

But what’s left when I let it out?

Will you still be here waiting,

Or will you still hold onto your doubt?

Guts!

Guts, Guts, Guts! That’s what it’s all about.

That took guts, hit me right in the gut, I gotta trust my gut

My guts get tired though, they get all tied up in knots,

They want me to scream til they come out.

What’s holding them all together?

The center of my being, the guttural pull

To listen intently when something doesn’t feel right

To swallow my fears down my gullet

And not spill all my guts out.

How do I hold this all in?

To stomach this world, you need a funnel

Otherwise, it won’t go down.

You gotta use your instincts so your

Insides don’t betray you.

I need to throw up.
